Summary:

The history of Boy and Girl Scout camps in Calvert County, established primarily in the 1950s. Camp Chesapeake, the first African American Boy Scout Camp in Calvert County was located in Lusby where the Calvert Cliffs State Park is today. Other camps included the YMCA Camp Boy Haven, and Bay Breeze Girl Scout Camp. YMCA-Camp Boy Haven existed from 1932 to 1952; Camp Chesapeake existed from 1952 to 1956; Camp Bay Breeze was a local girl scout camp from 1956 to 1974.
