About Us

Honoring the stories that have not been told.

We are a transformative collaboration of local organizations and educational institutions, committed to elevating the history of Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color in our region. We unearth and illuminate the full spectrum of Southern Maryland’s history, with a focus on those narratives that have been overlooked or constrained within organizational “silos.”

Our website serves as a comprehensive and easily searchable hub for honest explorations of our heritage. It offers accessible, unbiased historical narratives, not only for teachers and students, local community members, and tourists, but also for a broader audience seeking a deeper understanding of the causes and impacts of racism in our history.
